The 6th Company took part in an exercise near Ostend in Flanders during the winter of 1943-44.


The 6th Company took part in an exercise in the Ostend area of Belgium in the winter of 1943-44. This is tank "604" of the deputy company commander.

Here we see the same tank a few months later. This photo was taken by Sergeant Hardy on 6 July and shows tank -837 being towed by a Cromwell armoured recovery vehicle from 11th Armoured Division, after it had been knocked out near Cheux. The turret is trained to the rear and one can see the pisional insignia on the back of the engine compartment.

This is the PzKpfw IV Ausf H commanded by SS-Oberscharführer Johann Terdenge who led 2. Zug, 6./SS-PzRgt 12 ( Hitlerjugend Division) while training near Ostend in Belgium during the winter of 1943/44. Captured in July 1944.
